Compliance Agreement under section 517 of the Canada Elections Act.
This Notice is given by the Commissioner of Canada Elections, pursuant to section 521 of the Canada Elections Act, S.C. 2000, c. 9.
On May 8, 2001, the Commissioner of Canada Elections, pursuant to section 517 of the Canada Elections Act, entered into a compliance agreement with the contracting party of the City of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
In this agreement, the contracting party admits that she voted twice and contravened paragraph 483(b) of the Canada Elections Act.
In summary, the agreement required the contracting party:
- to recognize that no elector who has voted at an election may request a second ballot in that election; and
- to appreciate the seriousness of her actions in the electoral process.
