Key facts of violation
As the official agent for John P. Hendry, a People’s Party of Canada candidate in the electoral district of Don Valley East during the 43rd federal general election, Mohammed Abu Nijem was required, by virtue of subsection 477.59(7) of the Act, to provide the Candidate’s Electoral Campaign Return and required documents (Return), to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), within four months after polling day.
The deadline to submit the Return was June 30, 2020. It was provided to the CEO on March 26, 2021, 269 days after the deadline.
There are therefore reasonable grounds to believe that Mohammed Abu Nijem failed to provide the Return within four months of polling day, as required by subsection 477.59(7).
