Key facts of violation
As the official agent for the electoral campaign of Adam Salesse, the People’s Party of Canada candidate in the electoral district of Saint John–Rothesay during the 43rd federal general election held on October 21, 2019, Cheryle Salesse was required, by virtue of subsection 477.59(1) of the Act, to provide the Candidate's Electoral Campaign Return and other required documents (Return) to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), outlining the financing and expenses for the candidate's electoral campaign.
The deadline to submit the Return was February 21, 2020. As of September 13, 2022, Elections Canada's records show that the Return has still not been submitted to the CEO.
There are therefore reasonable grounds to believe that Cheryle Salesse contravened subsection 477.59(1).
