Key facts of violation

As the financial agent for the electoral district association of the Bloc Québécois in Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Jacques Roussy was required, by virtue of section 473 of the Act, to provide the Chief Electoral Officer with the financial return for the Association and other required documents (Return), for the years 2018 and 2019, within six months of its deregistration. The deadline to submit the Returns was March 31, 2020.

Elections Canada’s records show that as of September 26, 2022, the Returns had not been submitted.

There are therefore reasonable grounds to believe that Jacques Roussy failed to provide the Returns within six months of the Association’s deregistration, as required by section 473 of the Act.
