Key facts of violation
As the official agent for the electoral campaign of Marcia Luccock, the New Democratic Party of Canada candidate in the electoral district of Prince George–Peace River–Northern Rockies during the 43rd federal general election held on October 21, 2019, Laura Parent was required, under subsection 477.59(1) of the Act, to provide the Candidate's Electoral Campaign Return and other required documents (Return) to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), outlining the financing and expenses for the candidate's electoral campaign.
An extension of the filing deadline until June 30, 2020, was requested and granted by the CEO. As of August 24, 2022, Elections Canada's records show that the Return has still not been submitted to the CEO.
There are therefore reasonable grounds to believe that Laura Parent failed to provide the Return, as required by subsection 477.59(1) of the Act.
