Key facts of violation
As the official agent for the electoral campaign of Stacey Wakelin, the New Democratic Party of Canada candidate in the electoral district of Langley–Aldergrove during the 43rd federal general election held on October 21, 2019, Shane Dyson was required, under subsection 477.59(1) of the Act, to provide the Candidate's Electoral Campaign Return and required documents (Return) to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), outlining the financing and expenses for the candidate's electoral campaign.
An extension of the filing deadline until June 30, 2020, was requested and granted by the CEO. As of October 3, 2022, Elections Canada's records show that the Return has still not been submitted to the CEO.
There are therefore reasonable grounds to believe that Shane Dyson contravened subsection 477.59(1).
