When Should I Complain?
Transmitting Results on Election Day
Prior to June 2014, it was an offence under the Act to communicate election results from a part of the country where polls were closed, to an area where voting was still ongoing. However, the series of amendments that came into force in June 2014, repealed the ban on the transmission of election results prior to the closing of polling stations. Consequently individuals or organizations who transmit results before the polls have closed in other areas, are no longer considered to be contravening the Act.
